GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS’ RE-ENTRY TO CAMPUS

Following the directive by the President of Republic of Ghana for Schools/Colleges/ Universities to re-open to enable final year students to complete their academic work and write their exit exams, the WEUC has arranged for final year students to return to campus and complete the academic calendar. The following measures have been outlined by Management of the College:

  1. The WEUC will reopen on 15th June 2020 for final year students to complete the second semester academic work and write their exit exams.
  2. In view of the COVID – 19 pandemic still around, the University Management is encouraging students to be mindful of the pandemic when they report on campus.
  3. Management will organize orientation on Monday 15th June, at 09:30AM for regular students and Friday 19th June 2020 at 06:30PM for weekend students. The orientation is meant to guide students on safety protocols while on campus, conduct of students during revision and end of semester examination.
  4. Management encourages students to adhere to the following safety protocols:
    1. Students to bring along with them a number of re-usable face masks
    2. Students will go through a series of safety checks at the main entrance of the College and we encourage students to cooperate with the officers who will enforce these checks. Checks include:
      1. Temperature checks
      2. Face covering checks
  • Hand washing practices
  1. Students should please wear their face masks while on campus especially in lecture halls, library and other meeting areas
  2. Students should maintain social distancing protocols and hygienic practices
  3. As part of social distancing protocols, the College has spaced out furniture in the lecture halls and the library to meet the required measurement for social distancing. Please do not move the furniture around.
  4. The College has provided Veronica buckets, washing soap and sanitizers at vantage points. Please wash your hands regularly and avoid touching your face and other surfaces
  5. Please leave campus immediately after lectures and other administrative related activities unless it is important to stay around and even in such circumstances, maintain all safety protocols
  6. Please be mindful of the effects of stigmatization and do well to avoid it. Students are encouraged to report any form of stigmatization to the dean of students or heads of departments
  1. Students with re-sit papers should contact their respective HoD’s for guidance on how to take these papers.
  2. Finally we encourage students who have outstanding fees to settle to do so before the second semester examination. Students who fail to pay the full fees will not be allowed to write the end of second semester examinations.
